Sirius Satellite Radio
I have been an XM customer for almost 3 years. Today, I drop 1 XM radio in the family and replaced it with a JVC Sirius Receiver.
I have to admit right off the bat 1 negative for me, but maybe not for you. The Sirius Satellites orbit in a pattern that requires one to aim the antenna in the northern or western sky. XM requires a south eastern view on the east coast, so my office window is not perfect for reception. I did not buy it for home office use, though that is a nice bonus. I have XM for home and more than enough iTunes music plus both Sirius and XM can be listened to via the internet and I have more than enough pipe and spare computers for that.
The thing that immediately pleased me about the Sirius receiver was that it could display more that 16 characters for the artist name and more that 16 for the song title. I haven't listened to it enough to find out what their title limit is, but XM's limit of 16 characters leads to some very funny moments and a guessing game over long song titles.
I am going to give the Sirius unit a try in the car later this afternoon so that will be a while different test. That should prove interesting. So far so good, but it all comes down to programming.
I am impressed with the fact that the Sirius channels have guest DJs and specialized shows. Far more it seems than XM, but I will say that I have not heard enough yet to decide which has better content.
So far, I am going to say if you have the money and the inclination, get both. You will at least have everything available. You will be propping up both companies.

I have to admit that I am having some issues with Sirius in Atlanta. On the northside perimeter and from peachtree road south on 85 there is no signal.
I am not sure if this is my receiver or problems with Sirius. I have scoured the "Internet" but can find nothing of help. I may actually make a customer service call and see if Sirius can be of help.
