Comcast DVRs - A follow up

We have been using the Comcast DVRs for a few weeks now, and after using Tivo for so long there are some glaring problems.

For starters, finding programming is less than easy. If you are trying to setup a recording for a show that is more than 2 days away you can't be guaranteed to find the programming information. Just like your comcast digital cable box it only has a limited about of guide information. This is just a limitation of comcast. They need to correct it, but it is not a deal killer.

A major problem I have is that I had scheduled 2 programs to record at the same time as the DVR is capable of doing. It just decided to not record the 2nd show without warning. Luckily BSG airs again and I was able to catch it later Friday night.

The whole recording of 2 shows at once is more black magic that repeatable science. I think it has something to do with one tuner in the box being the main tuner and the second being for recording only, but that is just speculation.

So far, I am still using them and happy with them when they work, but still nervous to the point that I double up recording important shows using my Tivo.
