Metal Gear Ac!d - For the PSP

Holy crap, this is a card game. Here I am sitting there minding my own business watching the cut scene that lasts 10 minutes when suddenly combat is shown for the first time and cards are dealt. Everyone in the house heard when I saw that.

Immediately I thought there goes $40. I was already mentally beating myself up for buying the game without looking it up on-line first. But, it was a metal gear game. There are only about 6 games available for the PSP so I figured a cool action stealth game would be neat.

I plodded on though the enormous introduction and the insane cut scene with the murderous puppets. The game is not all that bad. I admit that my reflexes are not what they once were so a “twitch” game is not something I long to play.

I initially wanted to put away the UMD and bask in my shame but after investing 30 minutes in this game I found it to be as interesting as Final Fantasy. Well at least it involves tactics over twitch.

If you were looking for a stealth action game for the PSP, then keep on walking. This game is not for you. If you wanted Pokemon with guns, then this may be right up your alley.

In the interest of full disclosure I should tell you that I have several thousand Magic The Gathering cards. I have been known to enjoy a nice trading card game.

I would give this game a 3 out of 5. If I had been looking for a trading card game I would give it a 4 out of 5.

From now on I will pay far more attention to the games before I just pick one off the shelf.
