iTunes - Album only purchases

I know that business is all about making money. It seems that the music business is just about making money. When the big labels stopped selling singles a few years back saying they were losing money on them what they were really saying is we can make more money by forcing you to buy a crappy album with 1 good song.

It saddens me to see iTunes starting to do this more and more. The latest example I stumbled upon was the Fantastic Four Sound Track. It is a compilation and they are forcing you to buy the whole thing for $11.99 and you can't purchase by track.

There is nothing on that sound track I want, but it annoys me that I could not buy that one cool song. You know the one from the movie with that catchy beat or cool hook. I haven't seen the movie yet either so I don't know which one of the fine songs it is, but you get my point.

Apple will plead that they are contractually bound to do this. The Music industry will probably claim the same thing. Isn't it funny that everyone hides behind contracts when they don't want to do something but seem to forget contracts exist when they are in the way.
