World of Warcraft - The Battlegrounds are live

The battlegrounds went live yesterday. The download horror that comes with a major update did not seem to occur this time. Perhaps they increased bandwidth for deployment or maybe since it is Summer less people are playing. Either way the 49 meg update was not too bad.

So, how are the battlegrounds? Who knows. The waiting list was over an hour. I didn't have time to wait last night. That will tell you something. They are popular.

I was going to travel over to Warsong Gulch and try the 10 on 10 capture the flag battle. That would have been nice, but again, not enough time.

So why would I bother to post about something I didn't have time to do? I think it makes a point. The waiting list of over an hour is a little much. I am sure that others did not have to wait as long. But I don't think it will even out over time. The quick 10 on 10 stuff will probably be most popular.

Blizzard did good by getting these live. Time to wait and see if the game dynamic changes. The raids outside of the battlegrounds will probably slow down. My guess is that the only way to earn honor will be on the battlegrounds themselves.

Of course I know a place where a lot of horde players will be congregating... The entrance to the battlegrounds.
