Foo Fighters new album - In Your Honor - A disturbing trend?
In case you haven't gathered it by now I like music. Lots of different music. I recently started to purchase the new Foo Fighters CD in the store and noticed the label on it stating that it will only work in CD players and not on computers... Something slightly more legalize that I care to waste time memorizing. I wanted the CD so I could play it in my car. The audio range of the CDs is still far better than AAC so I figured I would pick it up and rip it to my ipod like every other CD I have.
I placed it back on the shelf and stepped away. If I wanted to hear it in my car and on my iPod I would have to buy 2 copies.
Sorry guys, this isn't going to happen. I may by music from people who are diametrically opposed to me on the political scale, but I will not buy music from people who want to be paid more than once for the same thing. I am crazy, not stupid.
I know that people are thinking, just buy it on iTunes and burn a CD. That is like stacking all 5 of your speakers in one corner. The AAC format is of a lower quality, it sounds great through headphones but you can tell the difference when you burn a CD at the lower quality.
I will pay once and then under fair use make my copies.
