Movie Review - SpiderMan 2
This is hailed as the best super hero movie ever made. Note sure it deserves that title, but it is a good film. The special effects are second to none, it is possible to forget you are watching CGI, until you realize that no person could move like spiderman.
The story is stronger and compresses hundreds of comic books and multiple story arcs into a movie. Okay, as a comic fan I am used to re-imagining stories. X-Men are a perfect example of that.
The focus on Peter Parker seemed at first to be a problem, but after reflecting on this for a few days I remember that the comics made a big deal out of Parker's personal issues. This was a nice breath of fresh air and may actually be the best movie out right now.
I am giving SpiderMan 2 an 8 out of 10. It is good, but not quite up to the hype. You will not be disappointed, the hype may just be exceeding what any movie can accomplish.
I am a little bummed that it will be May of 2007 before SpiderMan 3. That leaves way too much time for one of the principle actors to do something stupid like drive a sport car into a tree, or develop a drug habit that gets them killed. Guess they could just CGI in one of the actors if that happens.
